It’s impossible to express how much we at Time Out adore Mark Cousins. Not only is he one of our nation’s foremost filmic thinkers, he also created probably the finest ever TV documentary series on the subject, ‘The Story of Film’, and has written a number of witty, passionate articles for this very publication. His latest film as a director – following critically acclaimed cine-essays ‘The First Movie’, ‘What is This Film Called Love?’ and ‘A Story of Children and Film’ – is ‘Here Be Dragons’, another thoughtful meditation on our emotional and political relationship to the screen, as Cousins uses his visit to an Albanian film festival to explore that country’s often overlooked contribution to cinema.
