This slick, undoubtedly worthy, but otherwise unremarkable drama is about a Kurd and his elderly father now living in Danish exile (hence the film's Nordic funding). Together they reminisce about the upheaval of times past in Turkey, when the father was virtually disowned by his dad. Meanwhile, poverty, misfortune and musicianship seemed the boy's inexorable destiny. One sympathises with the characters, but that doesn't stop the ubiquitous clichés, including a blind old sage musician, becoming tiresome.
