Time Out says

This low key, episodic mood piece, from a book by Dimitris Nollas, spans the years from 1965 to '90 in a quartet of remembered moments. West Germany 1965: Kyriakos and a friend attempt to sell encyclopedias on US bases, but end up scamming on a Bible deal. This opener sets the mood - as in early Wim Wenders, the world is a muted, empty place; a zone of transit, of occasional communion with strangers and creeping Americanisation. Whether hitching in Yugoslavia in 1973, waiting for a plane in the blackout of a terminal hall, or facing a friend's sudden death in the marble toilets of a plush wedding reception, Kyriakos is a displaced observer. Best to view the vignettes as self-contained works: there is little sense of any character development, and that is perhaps the writer/director's point.
