Tempting to see this as a typically British forerunner of Hollywood's cute campus radical movies, with a bunch of musically-minded grammar school kids rebelling against the dismissal of their piano-playing teacher. Actually, it's just a botched imitation of those Garland/Rooney putting-on-a-show musicals, tediously tame and producing one absurdity to treasure in the sight of John Mills (the teacher in question) jiving over a hot jazz piano in a pub. The music is dubbed by Humphrey Lyttleton's Band (among others less reputable).
