Time Out says
This likeable, well-structured animated fantasy – centred on a mischievous but well-meaning clown-about-town who, in the process of investigating the mysterious disappearance of his wizard grandfather, encourages the citizens of a small kingdom to shake of their shackles of authoritarianism – is more accomplished than most recent Disney fare, even if it does resemble that company’s old classic ‘The Sword in the Stone’. The animation mixes both conventional and computer-generated techniques to mostly impressive effect and there’s plenty of witty dialogue – in English – and knockabout humour to keep youngsters content.
