Time Out says

'It's all about loving your parents,' runs the opening declaration from writer/director Karan Johar, also behind the Bollywood blockbuster 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. Johar's second picture takes standard musical ingredients, and with the help of a stellar cast (including longtime luminaries Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan), creates something tremendously vibrant. Rahul Raichand (the charmingly jocular Khan) is the adopted heir to a Delhi business empire, ardently loyal to his family, until he falls for a girl without his father's approval. His brother Rohan (Roshan), having matured from pudgy youth into high school hunk, endeavours to reunite the clan with the help of flirtatious Pooja (Kapoor). This is a film with celebration in its heart: the musical routines are triumphantly lavish, boasting pounding dhol percussion and gorgeously fluid choreography, whether the characters are rejoicing in Diwali, weddings, birthdays or cricket scores. Unfortunately, the song lyrics aren't translated from Hindi.
