In our society, the sad truth is that most homeful people consider homelessness to be a product of laziness, stupidity or lack of industry—and therefore worthy of contempt. This Colin Farrell–narrated doc about the Homeless World Cup chronicles several international players’ experiences as they converge in South Africa from 48 countries for this annual four-on-four soccer tournament. One older Spanish player describes winning a game there as the best moment in his long, hard life—which makes you hope that this thoughtful portrayal of his and the other players’ admirable representation of their countries will win them more respect back home.
