Mean and lean Kabir (Khan) does something terrible (see title) to Sonia (Lamba) the skimpily-clad teenage daughter of Vikrant (Dutt), a millionaire Indian businessman. Dutiful dad and kiddie kidnapper play a cat-n-mouse game with each other in order to free the semi-nude abductee. This Bollywood take on ‘Ransom meets Oldboy’ (with saucy songs) opens promisingly but it rapidly degenerates. Its main flaw is an illogical script which fails to captivate. Dutt looks like he’s back on drugs; Lamba equates acting to stripping. It’s only hunky newcomer Khan who brings some dignity and eye-candy to the preposterous proceedings. Not an unmitigated disaster but the absurd shootout climax pushes it into stock escapist revenge masala fare.
