Time Out says

An ill-advised remake of one of the classics of Thai cinema, Cherd Songsri's The Scar (1978). Kwan and Riam are village sweethearts in the 1930s, separated when Riam is sold off into domestic servitude in Bangkok by her impoverished father. City life rapidly changes her, and her widowed employer soon sees the girl as a potential bride for her own nephew. But she and Kwan pledged eternal loyalty to each other. Ex-critic Sutthakorn went back to the original novel by Mai Muangderm rather than revamping Cherd's script, but never remotely succeeds in finding a viable contemporary idiom for the romantic, old fashioned story.
