Time Out says

1 out of 5 stars

Adam (William Hurt) and Mary (Isabella Rossellini) are old. How do we know that? Because they keep telling us so, again and again, in Julie Gavras’s trifling comedy about the vagaries of aging. Over the course of a drawn-out 90 minutes, this long-married couple fights, separates and reconciles, though their prickliness is decidedly diluted (a John Cassavetes psychodrama this ain’t). Hurt tries on an English accent as if he were in the Walmart changing room and a splendid-in-theory supporting cast—Simon Callow, Joanna Lumley, Arta Dobroshi—either ham it up or make moony eyes. Extra discredit to the embarrassingly jaunty score by Sodi Marciszewer, which should be taken behind the recording studio and shot.
