Latitude Zero

Heavily pregnant Lena is not one of life's lucky people. She's been left to rot in an unfrequented bar beside a now deserted mine in the middle of nowhere. One day Vilela arrives unannounced. Love is conditional in this bleak tableau, an intense study of hope and desperation, trust and mistrust. Duboc is convincing as the wronged and bitter Lena, but the nuanced and sophisticated performance of Jaborandy as Vilela makes this claustrophobic film worth the watch.
