Time Out says

This feature-length documentary about iconic artworld grand dame Louise Bourgeois was filmed over 14 years (between 1993-2007), but it’s an investment that has paid off by producing an unexpectedly lyrical and poetic portrait of the now 98-year-old, feisty, French-American artist, acclaimed for her psychologically-charged sculptures that include room-like cells and giant spiders. What comes across is an artist who epitomises the genuine article – for whom neither life nor art could exist without the other and whose creativity has nothing to do with a desire for fame and everything to do with a need to express powerful emotions and ideas in a way that is both personal and universal.
