Mobile Home

Time Out says
Stuck inside a mobile with the Flemish blues again... It’s often said that the last mile is the hardest mile, but it’s the first few yards that prove the sticking point for twentysomething Belgian dreamers Simon and Julien in Francois Pirot’s slight but effective non-road movie. Struggling with the adult world, the pair attempt to shrug family entanglements and the pressures of the daily grind by escaping in a mobile home. Fuelled more by summer dreams of romance, sunsets and the open road than hard cash or any semblance of practicality, they soon realise that getting away won’t be as easy as they imagined. The comedy elements of their road to nowhere don’t always sit comfortably alongside their mounting frustration, but Pirot doesn’t bite off any more than he can chew and the two leads make for very agreeable company.
