Time Out says

The eponymous TV sitcom, in which Irish performer Brendan O’Carroll channels his inner Dame Edna to play a foul-mouthed old lady, was slated by critics on its first broadcast in 2011 – one reviewer noted that the programme ‘makes you vaguely embarrassed to be Irish’. As you might have guessed from the release of this feature adaptation, the public disagreed. If you’re a fan of men in drag recounting lewd anecdotes, this is for you; if not, the joke may wear thin before long.
