Nadia

Film

Time Out says

Inspirational, if not exactly inspired TV movie about the Romanian teen gymnast who swept aside the perennially victorious Russians at the 1976 Olympics with six 'perfect 10' scores. The film satisfies audience requirements for such biopics, picturing the triumphs and then the fall from grace. Nadia Comaneci had her 'fall': gaining weight, apparently attempting suicide, with nothing to reach for after those 10s. Nadia is played by an almost comparably gifted little girl, Leslie Weiner. Parental guidance: regardless of the cautionary aspects of the tale, show this to your daughters and you may be investing heavily in leotards.
