Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars
For a third film together, Canadian country-folk warhorse Neil Young and director Jonathan Demme have gone back to the source. Concert footage from a 2011 show at Toronto’s Massey Hall harks back to ‘the old folky days’, showcasing the man and his guitar, while we also follow Young around his home town of Omemee, Ontario. It’s an enjoyable but underwhelming watch, even for a committed fan: while it’s nice to see Neil behind the wheel, relaxed and effusive, there’s a point where we feel like we’re just watching a home movie. The gig material is strong, but there are few surprises in the set list. Also, the photography is so ‘intimate’ as to become slightly uncomfortable: any fans who’ve always wanted to know what the inside of Young’s nose looks like, now’s your chance.
