Nick Carter – Master Detective

Time Out says
The first of MGM's three Nick Carter B movies, in which he (not the period creation but a private eye in the contemporary mould) investigates espionage in an aircraft factory. Tourneur's second film in Hollywood, it's briskly and competently done, but the best thing about it is Donald Meek's performance as Bartholomew the Bee Man, a mousy little apiculturist who fancies himself as a private eye, keeps following Nick Carter (Pidgeon) around, and more than once proves to be the man on the spot.
