Nightshift

An evocation of Resnais' Marienbad in a West London hotel where the nocturnal residents inexplicably walk and talk in slow motion and the receptionist sits silently watching the world drift by from behind an impassive white Noh mask. Heathcote Williams does a conjuring trick, Jon Jost impersonates an American (movie?) tycoon, and three girls re-enact the pillow fight from Zéro de Conduite. A few odd arresting images fail to stifle the tedium of watching a succession of post-punk Knightsbridge poseurs going through their art film number.
