Time Out says
A former city-slicker cop (True Blood's Kwanten) reports for duty in the rural hamlet of Red Hill---the same day an escaped convict (Lewis) returns to the small town with revenge on his stone-cold-killer mind. Patrick Hughes's bloody, brutal Australian thriller handles its B-movie premise with surprising precision, though the inclusion of several befuddling elements annoyingly puncture the suspense. (You've heard of films jumping the shark? This one hurdles a panther.) When the movie keeps its focus on retribution and Rambo-esque ambushes, however, this slice of Ozploitation doles out grind-house pleasures by the dozens.
