It’s a big autumn for fans of Jane Austen and period dramas in general. Netflix has a new Dolly Alderton-penned spin on Pride and Prejudice, and Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean) will be bringing a new take on Sense and Sensibility onto our cinema screens. The Oscar-winning Ang Lee version and the BBC’s 2008 series are high bars to clear, but she has a talent young British and Irish cast to work with, including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, George MacKay and Frank Dillane.
