Sex Life in L.A.

This talking head documentary throws a more sobering light than the work of Bruce LaBruce on the lives of the hustlers, porn stars, models and entertainers working off Santa Monica Bvd, Los Angeles. Besides interviewing film-maker Rick Castro, studs Tony Ward and Kevin Kramer, and extremist body artist Ron Athey, the director includes portraits of less celebrated locals, such as homeless, disillusioned Patrick, porn reject John and aspirant underwear model David. The interviewees are revealing rather than self-analytical, and none is particularly articulate, amusing or sparky - but maybe that's the point.
