Setia (Amaria) is an Indonesian immigrant working as a maid in Taiwan. Her Thai lover (Lomnoi) does the odd construction job for under-the-table wages; to make ends meet, he also hustles commuters in need of man-on-man quickies. Rich Lee’s diasporic rom-drama laces its dourness with the occasional poetic moment; the sunny pop soundtrack that counterpoints the onscreen drudgery is a particularly nice touch. Though the movie says little that we haven’t heard before regarding globalized capitalism’s victims, credit Sincerely Yours for wearing its feel-bad humanism (Asian division) with a low-key sense of grace.
