A 2015 film festival favourite, playing Toronto, Adelaide, Sydney and Perth to warm receptions, Spear is a feature-length dance movie conceived by Bangarra Dance Theatre's artistic director Stephen Page.

Spear follows a young indigenous man, Djali (Hunter Page-Lochard), from the bush to the streets of Sydney in a quest to understand his place in the modern world. Aaron Pederson (Mystery Road) features in the cast as the tragic figure 'Suicide Man', along with the Bangarra ensemble.

This surreal and visually splendid fable is getting only a few cinema screenings – catch it at Cinema Nova, where (on March 13) there'll be a special Q&A screening with Page, Pedersen and producer John Harvey.
