Sumo Bruno

Time Out says

Germany's answer to The Full Monty and Strictly Ballroom. The small town of Riesa realises it has a potential world-class Sumo wrestler in jobless 400lb hulk Bruno (Orbeyi) after his impromptu session at a party. The owner of a sushi restaurant is hired as trainer and the gentle Bruno ends up, somewhat predicably, at the German round of the World Sumo Wrestling Amateur Championships. End of story. Krawinkel's feelgood debut has its share of comic moments - usually of the muted slapstick variety - but he rarely follows through, leaving several scenes just to peter out. Still, the wrestling sequences are impressively shot in slo-mo, and Orbeyi's huge cartoon-like character is almost huggable.
