The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela

Like a trannie who forgets to tuck, this sort-of doc bulges awkwardly in some places. The mighty real Raquela Rios, a “ladyboy” from Cebu City, Philippines, leaves tricking behind for the more lucrative Internet porn, but what she really wants is to find the love of a good man in Paris. She eventually gets there, but not before a two-month stint at a fish factory in Iceland. Raquela’s travel sequences are poorly structured, and detract from the film’s most satisfying moments: the queen herself at home with her two ladyboy compatriots, who avow, “We’ll be the first to heaven because we’re going to decorate it.”
