Lovelorn psychic Marina (Moore) wafts about her North Carolina look-out tower, putting all her considerable mental energies into finding Mr Right. Tell-tale signs indicate a lover is on his way, and before you can say crystal ball, the tide washes up portly New York butcher Leo (Dzundza). Is this fate, or did Leo simply make a wrong turn at the last island? Within days they're married and setting up home in Greenwich Village, where Marina starts dishing out clairvoyant advice with the pork chops, a development which pleases everyone but Leo and psychiatrist Dr Alex Tremor (Daniels). Moore sports blonde hair and - less convincingly - a Southern accent, but these are the only elements which jar in this hugely engaging romantic comedy. Hughes' direction and crisp visuals turn studio artifice into something altogether magical.
