Hollywood on Hollywood again: Harold Robbins' sleazy little yarn features Pia Zadora as a wide-eyed ingénue in a slashed dress, fresh out of high-school creative-writing courses, and learning about Beverly Hills on the wrong side of a very nasty rape with a garden hose. In no time at all she is scrabbling her way to a screenwriting Oscar through the land where every Mercedes convertible has a toupee.
