The Lovers' Guide 3D

Here’s one 3D movie you won’t want to take the kids to. Twenty years after the original instructional sex video, this version aims to improve a new generation’s sex lives. The models aren’t British, but the voiceover is: as Muzak trills and lovers writhe, soap stars Gemma Bissix and Jeremy Edwards share tips on foreplay, oral sex, positions and fetishes. The stress is on the psychology and the science: how to arouse, relax and be aroused. A lot of it makes sense and, as a beginner-to-intermediate’s guide, it has uses. It’s hardly a work of art – the 3D feels creepy – and the script’s often silly. Their cure for impotence? ‘Think sexy thoughts.’ Still, it’s worth seeing if you’re after basic bedroom inspiration or the sheer joy of hearing a ‘Hollyoaks’ actor say ‘frottage’.
