More taciturn tales of alienation, woe and suffering, this time focused on the shelters of Lisbon's homeless young. Like Pedro Costa's Ossos, it's a slow, elliptical and slightly pretentious affair. Right from the long, opening extreme close-up of hair blowing in the wind, Villaverde repeatedly pushes both imagery and sound to the brink of abstraction - an otherwise gratuitous scene in a fairground becomes a truly extraordinary coup de cinéma. Fascinating and for the most part strangely beautiful.
