Time Out says
Age and disillusionment catch up with the speed generation of the '60s (Schwabing being Munich's Chelsea or Greenwich Village). Every-one succumbs: Franco, a gigolo suffering his share of ennui, marries the girl with her hair in plaits, who steals (a revolutionary and purifying act) but only in order to surround herself with the trappings of bourgeois comfort; his friend George wants to open a huge Disneyland for sex where you can make it with Mickey Mouse. Well-made and surprisingly ambitious for what is ostensibly a sex film, the result is a curious but not unlikeable mixture. The more pretentious overtones are deliberately spiked by the hack American commentary, which ends with 'the names, of course, have been changed to protect the innocent'. Such a confusion of styles emphasises the film's uncertainty about what it has to say, but the humour and general readiness to try something slightly different make it a cut above its type.
