In this good-natured sequel to Three Men and a Baby, English actress Sylvia (Travis) and her daughter Mary have been living with our bachelor heroes for five years, but now Sylvia is hankering after a husband. Forget Michael (Guttenberg) and Jack (Danson), the obvious choice is upright architect Peter (Selleck). But both parties are scared to declare their feelings, so she accepts a proposal of marriage from smoothie English director Edward (Cazenove). Once it's understood that there's nothing even vaguely credible about the storyline, there's some harmless fun to be had as Michael and Peter go to England in pursuit, with their rescue mission taking on the proportions of a jailbreak when they discover that Mary is being primed for boarding school. Highlights stem chiefly from the performances: Fiona Shaw is funny as a frustrated headmistress, while Danson's variation on his Cheers persona keeps the mood light.
