Torrid Zone

Rip-roaring Warners melodrama set in a South American banana plantation but with the same larger-than-life performances and coruscating dialogue found in the studio's best gangster movies. Cagney is the plantation foreman. He's sick of the job and wants to up sticks and head home to the States. But wily owner Pat O'Brien is determined to keep him where he is. Nightclub singer Ann Sheridan ('The Oomph Girl') is an added distraction.
