Traveller

Scripted by Neil Jordan, this has something of the same bizarre thriller quality as Angel, with a young couple - reluctantly submitting to an arranged marriage, and sent on a smuggling mission from Limerick to Strabane - running from a mysterious encounter into robbery and murder while crossing the border from Southern Ireland. Instead of the strange wonderland of Angel, a strikingly desolate picture of rural poverty, but the film never quite manages to clinch its supposedly thematic connection between politics and violence.
