Two Weeks Notice

Bullock is Lucy, a clumsy but clever environmentalis attorney ripe for a makeover; Grant is George, an idle rich womanising buffoon. Persuaded to work for George's real estate development firm, Lucy soon becomes his right hand, and the love of his life, if only they'd both admit it. After put-upon Lucy gives in her notice, their love-hate relationship reaches boils up, climaxing when his company makes an environmentally dubious decision. Structurally, the film's off-kilter. The start of the relationship is rushed through, while the supposedly crucial notice period feels increasingly directionless. Which leaves the comic strand - and that, by and large, delivers.
