This intriguing, if somewhat attenuated documentary follows the campaign waged by 25-year-old Henryk Wichmann, a Christian Democrat forlornly trying to convince the locals, most of whom are even more right of centre than himself, that he can bring something fresh to the political scene. Writer/director Dresen never patronises or judges, but simply observes. Perceptive, enjoyable and rewarding as far as it goes, which really isn't very far.
