Where's Firuze?

Film

Time Out says

This Istanbul record-industry romp follows very familiar genre lines. Music producers Hayri and Orhan are in debt, saddled with failing acts and living on their rapidly dwindling wits. With the clock ticking, all hope rests on Ferhat, a young man with a voice to die for. Which they might end up doing, if they can't get his tape on the streets fast enough to balance the books. Enter angel of mercy Firuze, a glamorous widow who wants to invest in an artiste. There's an LP's worth of plot twists and turns, and a wardrobe full of brashly coloured suits in ad-man Akay's frantic fable. Unsurprisingly, song drives the alternately slapstick and slapdash narrative. Performances are energetic, and production design is certainly a multi-hued affair. There's lashing of Turkish in-joking, but the film makes no false claims for its intentions and is always generous of spirit.
