Why Worry?

Not so much one of Harold Lloyd's thrill comedies, more a gag-packed celebration of/satire on the American go-getter determination that was an essential part of his persona. Here he's a wealthy hypochondriac advised to take the sun, and landing up in a strife-torn banana republic where, with the help of a giant he befriends in jail after pulling his sore tooth, he quells a revolution... simply to get some peace and quiet. There's no denying the technical expertise behind the endless gags, but the remorseless optimism, coupled with the general blandness of Lloyd's character, makes the film somewhat wearying.
