Zerophilia

Though Zerophilia isn’t quite the philosophical inquiry it strives to be, its preposterous premise ends up working. Luke (Handley) has the titular rare chromosomal disorder, which allows him to switch back and forth between genders before eventually having to choose one he’ll stick with; things get complicated when he develops a crush on a beautiful man. The movie is fresh, suspenseful and lovely to look at, thanks to a fine cast of young hotties. And its final twist will leave you cheering. (Opens Fri; Village East.) — Beth Greenfield
