We were psyched to speak to Father John Misty—and who wouldn't be? This most charismatic, modish rock & soul singer is an enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a wafty shirt, and sure enough, our interview with the musician reveals some stirring insights on life, love and death. Quoth Father John: "If you have some kind of constant nagging suspicion that there is more to be wrought from this weird horror show called human life, then I feel like intimacy, birth, death, love, children—these are languages by which we get to achieve a greater understanding of this fucking mystery." What better place to photograph the singer then, than his home in New Orleans? Get swept up in these images in advance of his big SummerStage show in August.
