Heartbreak Happy Hour

Time to get jilted and tilted: We're sidling up to the bar and spilling our tales of bad romance, disastrous dates, breakup woe...and more, as long as it ponders--in the immortal words of Tina Turner--what love's got to do with it. This event is FREE, and brought to you by The Porch Writers' Collective and the Nashville Scene. Our readers will include Scene writers Abby White, Kim Green, D. Patrick Rodgers, alongside other fine local writers and poets: Jennifer Justus, Tiana Clark, Sandee Gertz, William Scott Lyon, and Knight Stivender. But it gets better: A panel of expert judges, wise in the ways of words and heartache, will assess our readers' performances and award a prize to the heartbreakingest among the lovelorn. Our esteemed judges include designer Amanda Valentine, musician and songwriter Korby Lenker, and bookstore impresario Chuck Beard. There'll be a People's Choice Award, too. It'll be the most fun you've ever had while crying in your beer, we promise.
