Artist Maggy Swain and Rian Archer open exhibition, Isolated Dream, curated by Tara Walters of The Red Arrow Gallery at Fond Object Records on Saturday November 12th, 2016 at 6PM in conjunction with the Eastside Art Stumble.

This series explores a state of being in which a person experiences reality as warped and unstable. Reality feels insidiously fragile, standing to collapse at any moment under the constant barrage of anxious thoughts questioning the very realm in which they seem to exist. The body serves as both an anchor and an enemy: proof in times of existential manic panic that one does, in fact, exist; yet simultaneously the vessel through which the traumatic chaos of existence is realized. When daily life amounts to perpetual teetering on the edge of sanity, one desperately begs an escape. Through these images we create an alternative to reality, an isolated dream world that engenders lucidity and provides space for self-exploration, empowering us to cope and survive within the void.
