Nashville Reception With Dr. Carl Hart: Challenging Drug Myths And Tn's Fetal Assault Law
Advertising
Time Out says
Healthy and Free Tennessee invites you to a meet and greet reception with Dr. Carl Hart and community activists with the Healthcare Not Handcuffs campaign to discuss the myths around drugs in the U.S. and how this perpetuates bad policies like the TN fetal assault law which criminalizes pregnant women.
Dr. Carl Hart is a neuropsychopharamacologist at Columbia University, where he conducts research and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in neuroscience, psychology, and pharmacology.
"A key element of my approach is the use of empirical evidence to guide public policy, even if it makes us uncomfortable. If we do this, we could have more humane and effective criminal justice policy, and a healthier and more productive society overall." Dr. Carl Hart
