The event creator says
Hey, party- (patty?) goers!!! This Saturday is the exciting St. Fratty's day. Tailgates will be from 2-6 pm. Like every year, this is a really fun - but dangerous - day due to the emphasis placed on drinking. Drinking isn't bad and should not be stigmatized; however, it's crucial to note the negative effects of binge drinking on the mind and body.

Because of thissssssss, a couple students (I hope?? Someone please help me?????) will be out by the construction-y area between Branscomb and Sarratt during tailgates (specific time tbd; I need to borrow a friend's car) PASSING OUT WATER BOTTLES. Small ones AND big ones. Yeah, seriously, take advantage of this. When intoxicated, you are not as tuned into what your body needs, so force yourself to drink water in between drinks if need be. Moreover, there will be Green Dot stickers to promote bystander intervention during this day. Have conversations with your friends about what effective consent is prior to going out; this includes anything ranging from putting a sticker on someone's body without asking to sexual and intimate behavior.

This is not being funded by Vanderbilt, so I have my own rules. They are as follows:

- All parties who take water bottles are responsible for RECYCLING them afterward. This campus - and planet - is not your dumpster. Take responsibility and dispose of your products properly after use. It is not up to us to clean up after you, nor is it up to the fraternity house you may be at.
- Seriously if you discuss anything about the VSG campaign while near the water, you will be spritzed like a cat. I'm not kidding -- I have a spritzer bottle. Anything with the letters VSG is not allowed either. (Talk about your vehemently sassy gerbils prior to tailgating because I will not have it.)
- Have fun. Enjoy your day. Be kind to and respectful of others. You will not be able to darty hard your entire life, so use this opportunity now and enjoy it. Hang out with your friends and go all out responsibly; happy can also be healthy.

If you're interested in helping me pass out bottles, please let me know.
