Ever felt like crawling inside a Terry’s Chocolate Orange box for a quick kip? No? Well, we guess someone probably had to come up with the idea at some point – and now a French ski resort actually is letting guests stay in a room done out like one. And frankly, in these already very weird times, why the hell wouldn’t you?

Just get a load of the décor. The huge (inedible) wedges hung on the wall, the wallpaper and bedding inspired by the iconic orange-and-blue packaging, the chocolate-scented friggin’ toilet paper: for chocoholics, the new chocolate orange-themed room at Alpine resort Club Med La Rosière really does sound like the stuff of brilliantly silly, sweet-toothed dreams.

Due to open in December (by which time, hopefully, travel to France from the UK will be a tad easier) the hotel room will also feature a real Christmas tree with help-yourself chocolate baubles and treat-filled stockings, replenished during your stay. Room service will include chocolate-orange hot chocolate, cocktails and truffles. (Note that the room doesn’t appear to be officially sponsored by the Terry’s brand – call it a loving tribute, if you will.)

Once you’ve stuffed your face, head out on to the balcony and you’ll be able to take in 180-degree views of the surrounding mountains. And when the time comes to hit the slopes, you can whizz around on custom orange-and-blue skis – making you, no doubt, the envy of the whole resort. Just make sure not to gorge yourself into chocolate coma first, yeah?

The Chocolate Orange Hotel Room at La Rosière starts from £93 a night. Find out more here.

Did you see Lindt has opened the world’s largest chocolate museum in Switzerland?

FYI: there’s also a ‘Willy Wonka-style’ chocolate factory coming to Amsterdam soon.
