Hotels come in all marvellous shapes and sizes. Just check out Time Out’s new list of the most gorgeous hotels on the planet, which includes lodges, sweeping resorts, dainty little boutiques and – wait for it – a castle.

However, plenty of newbies are set to open their doors, and reputable awards body the Michelin Guide has just named five of the most exciting for 2026.

Included in their roundup? Well, take a look at Villa Petrusse, a hotel described as a ‘miniature château’ by Michelin inspectors. It dates back to 1880 and, while it looks like it belongs perched in the streets of Paris, it’s actually nestled in Luxembourg City.

And according to the guide, that isn’t the only surprise about this place – along with its lovely 22 rooms (spread throughout the main house and former stable building) and immaculately dressed valet, there’s a historic cellar where you can enjoy a sommelier-led wine workshop and tasting.

One&Only Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana, also made the roundup. It’s a ski and spa resort consisting of ultra-luxe lodges and jaw-dropping mountain views. That’s far from all though – scroll on for a peek at all five entries.
