Want to travel across the pond but can’t afford the air fare? Well, here’s some very good news indeed: a brand-new budget airline has just launched – and it will take you all the way from London Stansted to Boston, Massachusetts, for less than £200. Not bad at all.

It’s the second flight route from Icelandic carrier Play, whose inaugural flight took passengers from London to Baltimore earlier this year. The first flight to Boston took off on May 11.

There is one catch, though – all flights stop over in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. The journey takes 11 hours in total, but given that it only costs £199 one way, we’re not complaining.

Play also plans to introduce a Stansted-New York route in June, a Stansted-Orlando journey in September and a Liverpool-Orlando route in November. The New York route will fly into Stewart airport, which is slightly further away than the standard JFK and Newark. Currently, the airline only has three planes, but it is hoping to double that by the summer. Interested in making the trip? Find out more on the Play website
