Think of the most grand and impressive rooms in film. The Great Hall at Hogwarts – tables laden with a seemingly endless feast, candles hovering in the air – must be up there. And do you know what? Now you could live right next door.
This brand-new block of flats has been built as part of the Royal Connaught Park housing development in Bushey, just outside of London. The Grade-II property was used for the original Great Hall scenes from the Harry Potter movies, and now (at least a part of it) could be yours. A three-bedroom flat will set you back £1.4 million, so sure, it’s not exactly cheap. For a Potterhead, though, that might be a price worth paying.
Once a Masonic School for Boys, the vast dining hall has also featured in The Life Of Brian, Judge John Deed, The Meaning of Life, Pink Floyd: The Wall, and The Avengers. Now, the residents who live in the nearby houses can use it for hosting parties. Very fancy indeed.
The whole development looks pretty impressive. Elsewhere on the site, you’ll find a gym, tennis club and 100 acres of parkland. Plus, under the hall itself is a swimming pool with a glass ceiling, so you can peer up at the iconic room while you do your lengths.
If you’re in the market for a new property and Harry Potter is your thing, you can book a viewing via the estate agent’s website.
