You’ll never think of your morning commute in the same light after watching the latest psychological thriller from ITV.
Platform 7 is adapted from Louise Doughty’s novel of the same name, focusing on a ghost with no recollection of her past, but unable to transition to the afterlife.
Trapped in a train station, Lisa encounters other ghosts and begins to uncover the mystery of her past life and learns her death could implicate those nearest to her.
Here’s all you need to know about the cast, plot and filming locations of Platform 7.
Where was Platform 7 filmed?
The series is set at Peterborough Station, although scenes on the titular platform were actually shot at Keighley Station in West Yorkshire.
Scenes taking place on the train station concourse and forecourt were filmed at Kidderminster station in Worcestershire.
The Leeds suburb of Chapel Allerton was used as a filming location for some of the drama outside of the station.
Setting the supernatural thriller at a train station was crucial to the plot, with the location serving as a metaphor for purgatory in the afterlife.
‘I used to have a standing joke that if I had been bad and died and went to purgatory, I would find myself trapped on Peterborough railway station on a freezing November night,’ explains Louise Doughty, author of the Platform 7 novel.
Who is in the Platform 7 cast?
Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy), leads the cast as Lisa, who finds herself stuck on a train platform with no memory of her life. When she witnesses a suicide at the station, Lisa begins to uncover what happened to her.
Toby Regbo (The Last Kingdom, A Discovery of Witches) takes on the role of Lisa’s boyfriend, Matt, who works as a doctor at the hospital where the pair first met.
Yaamin Chowdhury (Ghosts) portrays Akash, a British Transport Police detective charged with investigating Lisa’s death, putting his career on the line to solve the mystery.
Phil Davis (Poldark) plays Edward Warren, another ghost trapped at Peterborough station.
Lisa’s grieving parents Trevor and Evelyn are played by Patrick Robinson (The Last Kingdom) and Natasha Joseph (Holby City).
