Remember the 'Macarena'? The peak 90s song and accompanying dance that look over the airwaves and Western pop culture despite being mostly in a language other than English. Yes, the one that involved putting your arms out, then touching your elbows, head, hips and shaking your butt. Come on, you remember. Well, it's been 25 year since the song hit number one on the US pop charts for more than 14 consecutive weeks, and to celebrate the duo behind the iconic hit, Los del Rio, is putting their Spanish villa on Airbnb.
The luxurious Andalusian villa is used by the pop duo as a rural getaway where they can get inspired to create music. The sprawling mansion comes complete with typical Spanish patios, a sun-drenched garden and a seriously luxe swimming pool. Guests will also have access to a private karaoke room and Spanish guitars which they can use to practice their moves, because, 'Macarena' singers Los del Rio aren't absentee hosts. The duo will be there with you every step of the way.
Los del Rio will welcome guests for two nights and share their top tips on how to sing and dance the catchy hit. Booking opens June 28 at 4pm CEST for a two-night stay which will take place on August 3, 2021. A group of four guests will have the chance to request to book the entire villa for only €25 a night (plus taxes and fees).
For any superfans that don't win a night in the house, the band is also hosting an Airbnb experience, Spanish flavors to the rhythm of Heey Macarena, where they will cook, dance, sing and share behind the scenes insight from their 90s-era success. The bookings for this one-time event will also open on June 28 at 4pm CEST and the experience will take place August 3, 2021.
