Gastronomy fanatics, listen up. Despite its closure over a decade ago, there’s now a chance to stay in what was formerly one of the world’s greatest restaurants.

Ferran Adrià, world-famous chef and creator of three Michelin-starred restaurant El Bulli, will welcome two guests for a one-night stay at the renamed elBulli1846, for free. The space, which is tucked away in a cove on Spain’s Catalan coastline, currently operates as a museum, but it’ll welcome its first-ever overnight guests in October. You can check it out on Airbnb

The lucky visitors will not only enjoy exclusive access to unseen parts of the building, but will get to sleep in a ‘plated’ bed and even meet Ferran himself – and what a guy. He’s the inventor of culinary foam and was once hailed an ‘ultimate culinary genius’ by the Observer

‘We had reached what we felt was the limits of what can be done in a gastronomic experience at the maximum level,’ says Ferran, ‘Now I’m excited to push new creative boundaries, to share this way of seeing the world with the guests who stay here and to introduce them to our latest chapter as elBulli1846.’

Here are some snaps of the place.

And yes, before you ask, eating will be a big part of the experience. The stay includes dinner at one of Ferran’s personal local faves in the nearby town of Roses, and a post-check out dinner at Enigma in Barcelona, which is run by Albert Adrià, Ferran’s brother and the world’s second-best chef.

If you want to be in with a chance, listen up. The one-night stay will take place from October 16-17 and booking requests will be open on Airbnb from April 17 at 6pm CEST, 5pm BST. You can look at the listing here. Guests need to organise their own transport to and from Roses, but will be driven to elBulli1846.
